This is a really great product! Setup was a bit tricky but once I got it working it instantly gave me a nice boost to my wireless network. The unit works great and I would recommend to anyone looking to expand their WiFi in dead spots

Review update on 3/1/12: This Access Point still delivers great performance. I also know though testing with my phone and tablet it has great range even grater then my current WiFi router. So this product is still in my book an A+.

I purchased this AP to upgrade my Verizon FIOS router to "N". Granted I still have a 100 mbps LAN port bottleneck, but the network is much snappier and responsive. Large file transfers are considerably faster...even when going between "G" connected devices. I would recommend turning off the radio on the FIOS router and running everything thru the AP. Seemed like I was getting some interference with both radios on...enjoy !!

I bought the TP-Link TL-WA801ND unit intending to use it as a relay to extend the range of my existing wireless access point because it wasn't reaching all the house reliably and connections were dropping randomly. It worked fine for that purpose but I noticed that the signal strength on the TP-Link was stronger all over the house by itself than the Netlinx was even up close. I turned off the Netlinx and reconfigured the TP-Link to be the wireless access point instead of a relay. What a difference. I get reliable connections everywhere in the house, no drops and good speed.

As others have said, configuring this unit can be a challenge if you don't have some experience. The instructions aren't really written for someone who has never set up networks and doesn't already understand how all the pieces fit together. It's not that the instructions are written badly but rather that a certain knowledge level is assumed that may not be there. If you understand the basics of network... Read more
